This letter was sent out as a reminder of the ordinance adopted back in March 2012 to install a backflow prevention device and also Amwaste's expectations for the yard waste services provided to the City of Manchester.
This is a picture of the sewer back up flow protector. The sewer pipes in Manchester are 4" per the Utility Director.
This letter is to update everyone in the city about the ordinance adopted March 2012. There will not be an inspector going out, but if Utilities flushes the main sewer line and it backs up into a house; the City of Manchester will not be held responsible. It is the homeowner's responsibility to make sure this part is in place to prevent sewage back up.
